We are serving the business interests of our members and clients

The idea to create Creditreform was first conceived in 1879 in Mainz, Germany. A group of local merchants associated into a group to protect themselves against unfair business partners by exchanging information on such partners and helping each other when collecting bad debts. In 10 years only, the idea spread over whole Germany and further associations were created in almost all major German towns. As a rule one member assumed the task of co-ordinator.

The co-ordinators merged into regional associations and the regional associations formed a centralised organisation. Between 1945 and 1990, the activity of the organisation was limited to the German speaking Europe: Germany, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Following the political changes during the 90ties in Central and Eastern Europe, Creditreform expanded its presence into Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the Ukraine, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

  Creditreform in Romania

Creditreform Romania was established in 1991 in Bucharest and is the first Romanian private company offering to its clients credit reports about Romanian or foreign companies and debt collection services. Now, having over 15 years of experience, a solid database, qualified personnel and the know-how of our German partner, we are offering to our domestic and foreign clients high-quality services.

The underlying principle of the organisation as in Western Europe is the mutual assistance among members by sharing information on unfair and unreliable business partners.
